EFT practitioners guide clients through tapping sequences to release emotional stress and improve wellbeing. Sessions often involve education, reassurance and structured follow-ups to track progress. Many professionals benefit from support for EFT that includes client scheduling, admin tools, and content that helps explain the science behind tapping to new audiences.

What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often referred to as ‘Tapping’ is a therapeutic method that combines elements of congitive therapy with acupressure. It involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing emotional issues or physical symptoms. The goal is to reduce stress, release negative emotions and promote overall wellbeing.

How It Works:

EFT is based on the concept that negative emotions or unresolved issues can cause disruptions in the body’s energy system. By tapping on energy points, EFT aims to restore balance and help release emotional or physical discomfort. A typical EFT sessions includes:

  • Identifying the Issue: Focusing on a specific problem (e.g anxiety, pain or a traumatic memory)
  • Setup Statement: Repeating an affirmation acknowledging the issue and accepting oneself (e.g “even though I feel (emotion), I deeply and completely accept myself”)
  • Tapping Sequence: Gently tapping on a series of acupressure points in a specific order whilst verbalising thoughts related to the issue

Common Uses:

EFT is used for a variety of emotional and physical challenges, including:

  • Stress, anxiety and depression
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Phobias and Fears
  • Chronic pain or discomfort
  • Enhacing performance (in sports, academics or public speaking)
